History

East Akron Community House ("EACH") is a 501(c)3 non-profit social service agency that was established in 1911 by 600 women as Akron’s only settlement house. Today, EACH champions community and neighborhood organization through programming directed towards making a significant impact in the lives of community citizens. Our programs are targeted in our four key areas: Community Programming & Outreach Initiatives, Neighborhood Organization & Development, Community Green Initiatives, and Community Safety.

EACH offers a wide range of services, including five (5) funded by the United Way of Summit County. They include Family and Individual Counseling, Drug and Alcohol Prevention Services, Neighborhood Organization and Development, Vocational Services, and Group Social Development for Children. EACH also provides other vital services including our Youth Outreach Center (Juvenile Delinquency Prevention) and Cierra Gardens: Adult Day Services. EACH has been a successful neighborhood service agency and its accomplishments are widely recognized.

We partner with and receive funding from many organizations throughout Summit County. These relationships empower EACH to serve as a catalyst for community progression, outreach, neighborhood safety, and advancement.
