Block Clubs are the backbone of our community. These dedicated groups of individuals reside in designated blocks that have organized to improve the quality of life in their community and their neighborhoods.
East Akron Community House has a rich legacy of neighborhood organization and development and has many concerned citizens who ensure that East Akron stays safe. These people care about what is happening in their community so they identify and address community concerns like crime, guns, drugs, and vacant houses. The Block Clubs work collectively to advance change in the community.
It is important to become a member of a neighborhood block club because members make a difference. Block clubs help ensure that children arrive and return safely from school, that they have the services they need to survive and that all citizens have the ability to grow, thrive, and benefit form a community free of crime. By planting new green spaces, community residents benefit from planting and maintaining new green spaces.
There are monthly block club meetings at EACH and welcome East Akron residents to participate. If you live outside of East Akron and would like to learn more about starting a Block Club, contact us at 330.773.6838. We welcome the opportunity to work with you and learn more about your initiatives. Together, we can make Summit County a better place.
